Unrequested late check-outs between 1:00PM EST and 4:00PM EST will be subject to an additional 50% of room rate. Early check-in is based on availability and cannot be guaranteed unless booked in advance. Guest departures vary daily, in the event your room type is available and fully serviced by our housekeeping staff, the hotel will provide an early check-in when possible. Additional charges may apply. Luggage storage is available if your room is not ready before 4:00 PM EST.
If your booking is prepaid, nonrefundable – the full stay will still be charged. All other reservations will be subject to an early departure fee.

The Carnegie Hotel is a smoke-free New York hotel. If you smoke in your room or any area within the property, a $200.00 smoking fee will be applied. Noise and smoke complaints are taken very seriously. Excessive noise and all smoke complaints will be addressed by our Security Department. Vaping is not allowed as it triggers the smoke detectors in the rooms. If you experience any type of noise or smoke issue during your stay, please dial “0” for immediate assistance.
The hotel charges a mandatory facilities fee of $22.96 inclusive of tax per room, per night, in addition to the room rate. This fee provides guests with an array of services and amenities:

Any damage to the room(s) or public property within the hotel needs to be reported to management immediately. After review and assessment, a penalty may be posted to your folio based on severity of the damage(s).

Self-parking is available and located right next door to the hotel at GMC Parking garage. The reduced rate is $45 for 24 hours and there is an additional $10 for oversize vehicles. Additional charges will apply if 24-Hour period is exceeded. There are no IN/OUT privileges. Valet parking is not available.

Yes, this may be paid by credit/debit card at check-in. An incidental hold will be taken at check-in in addition to your projected room charges. Incidental hold: $75 per day up-to a maximum of $300 per stay.

Full payment and incidentals will be pre-authorized on your credit card at time of check-in.
The hotel will release the authorization on your departure day. While most credit cards issued by US based banks take 5-7 business days, it can also depend on the issuing bank’s policies. INTERNATIONAL debit and credit cards may take up to 30 days or more depending on the bank.
There is no Fitness Center on site. The hotel offers daily passes at a discounted price to visit the New York Health and Racquet Club, located at 110 West 56th Street, New York, NY 10019. A two (2) minute walk from the hotel.

We provide hairdryers and the following Malin+Goetz products in all our rooms: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face soap, lotion and shower caps.
Yes. Dry cleaning service is available. Please note that guests who require same day delivery must be called in before 9:00 AM. Any requests after 9:00 AM will be delivered the next day. The dry-cleaning facility is not managed by the hotel and is contracted to an outside company off property.
We do not have a gift shop.
Ice and Vending Machines are located on the cellar level of the hotel and accessible by elevator.
The hotel will accept packages for all arriving and in-house guests. Packages should not be sent to the hotel until 3 days prior to the guest arrival. Packages without a matching name to the reservation will not be accepted and will be sent back to sender. The Carnegie Hotel will not store packages throughout the guest stay in the package room. All packages should be addressed to the name of the guest(s) registered on the reservation, followed by the complete address of the hotel. Please make sure you have the tracking number of your package in order to collect your package. If checking out, collect your package well in advance. Please note we do not hold regular mail. This service is included in the facility fee.
Travel Agents are paid out a 10% commission as long as a valid IATA number is entered at the time of the reservation.
Yes, we do have a luggage holding area. As per our policy, guests are allowed to store luggage during the dates of their stay only. The hotel cannot hold onto luggage prior to arrival day or post departure day after 10:00 PM. In addition, the hotel does NOT offer overnight storage. This service is included in the facility fee.
If, we are a non-profit agency or are tax exempt, how do we get our tax exempt?
TAX EXEMPTION: All guests who are tax exempt will need to bring their own New York City and state tax exemption forms fully signed. In addition to providing the tax exemption documents, the tax-exempt organization must pay for the stay in order for it to be tax exempt. This can either be prepaid with the organization’s credit card (CC authorization form) at least 14 days prior to check-in. We would then apply payment for the room charge and set up the tax exemption in the hotel system so taxes do not run.
If the stay is not prepaid and guest claims tax exemption at check-in, they need to present the tax exemption documents and the exempt organization’s CC that belongs to the guest on arrival.
If the guest paid on their own without a tax exempt form or pre-payment on arrival, then the guests have a 90 day window after check-out to present proof of tax exemption and payment from the organization (CC authorization form). Once we receive the valid ST-129 New York state form, we will refund the taxes charged in full.
